Poll shows people value being approached by a recruiter
In a recent poll conducted on LinkedIn, the question was asked "Does a recruiter approaching you unsolicited on LinkedIn bother you?" Nearly 14,000 professionals responded and the overwhelming response was No, it does not bother them, in fact they welcome the contact.
Only 4% (515) of respondents said they do not like unsolicited contact from a recruiter. 48% (6660) responded that they do not mind, provided the opportunity presented has relevance to themselves. Another 47% (6498) welcome any form of contact from recruiters. 2% (245) prefer only contact from a recruiter with whom they are already connected on LinkedIn.
Today's working professionals are increasingly open to hearing about opportunities that may proactively help them advance their career paths rather than waiting patiently for a long term employer to recognize and promote them from within.
